Observations: No real opinion about this week.  I’ve chronicled the Thursday night hiccup enough.  Either this past week was a wake up call to a larger training issue or a catalyst for a successful race (or both or neither :-) ).  Marathon Maiden is always a step ahead (no pun intended) and recently blogged about not enough time between intervals and tempo runs.  Interestingly enough we are on the same daily running schedule … except she doubles my measly mileage total! ;-)   I think she has a point.  Moving from hard fast twitch to hard VO2/endurance in 48 hours is tough.  In my case, I can’t alter the team’s schedule and it’s worked for hundreds of runners on the team.  Overall, despite my whining, Thursday nights are slowly getting better for me.  More patience is likely the prescription here.  Tempos are meant to be challenging.  If it gets me the results I want on race day, I will grin and bear it.
