Better to Be Lucky

By admin

Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. I’m so happy that I ran yesterday and scheduled today as a rest day. This morning the temp was a ridiculous (for NYC) 6 degrees with the wind chill. I don’t own enough gloves (yet) to get me thru a morning run in that weather.  Although, today is not a complete rest day as I will get some core work done a bit later.

I went to bed exhausted and slept like a rock. I was groggy getting up late at 7:15 am and could have slept another couple of hours. However, it did not take long for me to begin thinking about tomorrow’s LR. Last week I navigated the path loops and avoided asphalt. I’ll likely get back to the hard stuff / outer loop on Saturday. It will allow me to get some hill work in too.

I’m definitely looking forward to the weekend pace … I get to sleep in a bit (no alarm, no rushing).  I get to sip my pre-run cappuccino.  However, I can’t be too lackadaisical as NYC is bracing for it’s first snow storm of the season.  Manhattan is notoriously unprepared for inclement weather.  Therefore, this weekend could get spicy.
